Northern Territory Police are calling for witnesses to an assault between a man and a woman in Alice Springs earlier today, to contact them.

Police responded to a report of a domestic disturbance in Jasmin Court at 1pm.

A 26-year-old man is alleged to have dragged a 23-year-old woman from a parked black Holden Captiva before physically assaulting her.

The woman was taken to the Alice Springs Hospital with minor injuries, while the 26-year-old was taken into police custody.

Police are calling for anyone who may have witnessed the incident to contact them on 131 444 or report to the front of the Alice Springs Police Station and reference PROMIS number 9241451.
