Northern Territory Police are calling for witnesses in relation to an aggravated assault which occurred at Palmerston Bus Interchange last night.

A man was located with deep lacerations to his head and shoulder at around 10:40pm. Police responded and provided first aid until the arrival of St John Ambulance staff. The man lost a significant amount of blood and was conveyed to Royal Darwin Hospital where he will undergo surgery.

The offender left the scene prior to police arrival and remains outstanding. A crime scene was established and investigations continue.
