Call for Witnesses – Aggravated assault – Alice Springs

Northern Territory Police are calling for witnesses in relation to an alleged aggravated assault in Alice Springs yesterday afternoon, Monday 16 March 2020.

At 5.30pm, a 52-year-old female cyclist was riding along Bradshaw Terrace, at the intersection of Bromely Street, when she was approached from behind and assaulted by a young male which caused her to fall from the bicycle.

The male was riding a small mountain bike and is described as being of aboriginal appearance with dark complexion, aged 12 to 15 years, small build and wearing dark coloured clothing.

The female cyclist suffered bruising to her knee and hands.

Police are urging witnesses who were in the vicinity of Bradshaw Terrace and Bromely Street yesterday afternoon, or who can identify the male person of interest to come forward.
