Call for public assistance - Aggravated assault - Alice Springs

Northern Territory Police are seeking public assistance for information following an incident in which a man was seriously injured in Alice Springs overnight.

Initial investigation indicate a 43-year-old man had been seriously assaulted by an unknown person/s before he was left in the driveway of a property on Gosse Street around 10:30pm.

The man was transported to the Alice Springs Hospital where he remains in the ICU in a serious but stable condition.

The area was declared a crime scene overnight, and police door knocked the area earlier today.

Detective Acting Senior Sergeant Leith Philips said police are calling for public assistance from residents or people who were in the area of Gosse Street, Lindsay Avenue or Sturt Terrace overnight, to contact police.

“We are seeking public assistance from residents with CCTV or people with dash cam who may have driven in these areas which may assist our investigation.

“We urge anyone who may have footage, or have heard a disturbance in the areas of Gosse Street, Lindsay Avenue or Sturt Terrace around the time of 10pm, to contact us.”
