Northern Territory Police and Northern Territory Fire Rescue Service are investigating a suspicious fire at an Alice Springs residence yesterday.

At around 4pm, Police received reports of smoke coming from a residence on Spearwood Road, Sadadeen.  Within a short time, the fire had engulfed the entire kitchen. Firefighters were able to extinguish the fire, however the building sustained significant damage.

Acting District Officer David Letheby said, “Deliberate property damage is unacceptable. It is fortunate that no one was home at the time of the fire.”
