Northern Territory Police have arrested a 24-year-old man for reckless driving in the rural area.

At around 8:15am, police received a number of reports from members of the public relating to a vehicle driving in a dangerous manner at speed on the Stuart Highway.

Police located and apprehended the man at the intersection of Stuart Highway and Batchelor Road. He was conveyed to Palmerston Watch House after returning a positive roadside breath test and later submitted to a breath analysis which returned a result of 0.168% BAC. 

He was  charged with:

  • drive at a speed manner dangerous
  • drive under influence of intoxicating liquor
  • drive high range blood alcohol content

The man will face Darwin Local Court at a later date.
