Northern Territory Fire and Rescue Service have upgraded the watch and act issued for further properties in Girraween to an Emergency Warning.

Properties in the vicinity of Power Road, Kareela Drive, Donaldo Court and may be under threat.

Residents are urged to take action to protect their families and homes by implementing emergency plans. Consider evacuation at this time.

The length of Power Road, Paperbark Way and Dreamtime Drive are now closed with the fire moving in direction of Stuart Highway.

Emergency Services are urging the public to avoid the area if possible. Obey all directions of emergency services personnel.
