Suspicious fire - Tennant Creek

Northern Territory Police are investigating a suspicious fire at a high school in Tennant Creek overnight.

Just before midnight local police and fire crews responded to an automated fire alarm at the Tennant Creek High School.

Further inspections found smoke coming from smouldering leaves in an internal gutter, which was successfully extinguished by local fire authorities.

Minor damage to the external area of the building was caused as a result of the incident.

Police are treating the fire as suspicious and investigations continue surrounding the cause of the fire.
