A pedestrian has died as a result of being struck by a vehicle on 23 April on Vanderlin Drive, Karama.
A vehicle was travelling outbound on Vanderlin Drive, approaching the Manunda Terrace intersection around 9:30pm when the pedestrian was struck.
Police and paramedics attended but unfortunately the male passed away at the scene.
The victim is believed to be a 36-year-old male.
The driver of the vehicle stopped at the scene and is assisting investigators with their enquiries. She returned a negative reading to both alcohol and drug analysis.
The Major Crash Investigation Unit attended to conduct enquiries and returned on 24 April to continue their investigation.
During this time, the outbound lanes of Vanderlin Drive between Kalymnos Drive and Manunda Terrace were closed temporarily with a detour in place via Kalymnos Drive and Manunda Terrace.
Police are appealing for any witnesses to contact them with information. Anyone who was in the area including those who stopped are urged to call police on 131 444 referencing PROMIS number 8946831 to assist them with the investigation.
The Northern Territory’s road toll now sits at 10.
A report will be prepared for the Coroner.
