A woman has died in a single vehicle crash north of Alice Springs earlier today.

Around 8:30am the woman was driving westbound on a dirt road 10kms from the Ti Tree Police Station when for unknown reasons the vehicle has crashed into a culvert.

The woman, aged in her 50s died at the scene.

Members of the Major Crash Investigations Unit are investigating the circumstances surrounding the cause of the crash.

No further information is available at this stage.

The woman’s death brings the Northern Territory Road Toll to 21 compared to 34 for the same period last year.
