Rider dies in fatal motorcycle crash on Legune Station access road

On Friday, 6 September 2019, a 19-year-old male from Kununurra was riding a motorcycle on the access road to Legune Station, when he collided with a tree.  This male died from his injuries at the crash scene.

NT Police from Northern Traffic Operations attended and investigations are being undertaken to determine the contributing factors of this crash.  A report will be prepared for the coroner.

Senior Sergeant Angela Stringer of Northern Traffic Operations said, “This fatal crash brings the Territory Road toll to 22, compared to 34 for this time last year.  This is a tragic and preventable loss of life.  The conditions of the environment were not suitable for someone without experience to be riding.”
