Major Crime detectives are investigating the death of a 40-year-old woman who was located at Mindil Beach around 9:45pm last night.

Upon arrival, police located a women who was non-responsive. Despite the CPR efforts of first responders, the woman later died at Royal Darwin Hospital.

At this time cause of death is unknown and the investigation is ongoing.
