Katherine Police are investigating the death of a 20-year-old female who was located near the Katherine River around 3:15pm on Sunday 1 December 2019.

A crime scene has been established and detectives from the Northern Investigations Section have commenced an investigation.

Police are appealing for any witnesses who may have observed any person in the vicinity of the old railway bridge between 11:00pm on Friday 29 November and 3:00am on Saturday 30 November to contact police. Anyone with information can phone police on 131444 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
