Charges – Property Offences – Darwin

Police

Strike Force Trident have charged a 17-year-old male with property offences.

Police believe the 17-year-old unlawfully entered a Bellamack residence and stole jewellery on 31 May.

The youth was later apprehended by police in relation to a report of a stolen vehicle from Leanyer on 17 September. He was released pending further police investigations.

On 21 September, the youth breached his bail conditions and police identified him as the one responsible for the Bellamack unlawful entry.

Whilst conducting enquiries to locate the youth, police attended a Rosebery residence on 25 September. The 17-year-old fled from the residence towards Bakewell and police established a cordon. Police sighted the youth a short time later and he was taken into custody.

He was charged with:

  • Aggravated Unlawful Entry
  • Damage To Property
  • Stealing
  • Aggravated Unlawful Use Of Motor Vehicle
  • Unlawful Possession
  • Resist Police In Execution Of Duty
  • Breach Of Bail

Police bail was refused and the youth is expected to appear in the Darwin Youth Justice Court at a later date.
