Charges – Drug and traffic offences – Darwin

Northern Territory Police have charged a 30-year-old woman following a vehicle pursuit in Darwin overnight.

Darwin General Duties officers sighted a vehicle acting suspiciously in Winnellie around 10:10pm yesterday. Police attempted a traffic apprehension however the vehicle failed to stop and a pursuit was commenced. The pursuit continued from Winnellie to Goyder Road where the vehicle came to a stop following a minor crash. The woman fled the vehicle on foot and was apprehended by police a short time after.

A search of the vehicle discovered 4 grams of methamphetamine, 0.5 grams of heroin, scales, cash and items indicating drug supply.

The woman is expected to be charged with:
• 2x Possess Traffickable Schedule One Drug
• Supply Dangerous Drug – Less Than Commercial Quantity
• Possess Tainted Property
• Drive Manner Dangerous In Pursuit
• Fail To Stop
• Drive Unlicensed
• Drive Speed Dangerous
• Flee Scene Of Accident
• 3x Fail To Obey Red Traffic Light
• Fail To Provide Blood Sample
