A 23-year-old female has been charged following the alleged assault of an ambulance worker at a Darwin city residence overnight.

The 30-year-old female victim and colleague responded to a request for St John Ambulance around 9:20pm. Upon arrival, the ambulance workers located the offender and attempted to render assistance for her injuries. The 23-year-old allegedly struck the paramedic to the face, causing harm.

Police attended, arrested the offender and remanded her in custody. She is due to appear in Darwin Local Court today for assault emergency services worker cause harm.
