Police are appealing for witnesses in relation to an alleged sexual assault on a 39-year-old female in Alice Springs overnight.

The female was attempting to leave her place of employment on Todd Street, Alice Springs around 9:00 pm when she was approached and assaulted. The offender then left the area.

The offender is described as male, of Aboriginal appearance, approximately 18 years of age, with short hair and a small moustache. He was last seen wearing a light coloured t-shirt with short sleeves and dark coloured cotton pants with an elastic waist band.

Anyone with information as to the identity of the offender or anyone who was in the area of Todd Street, Alice Springs around 9:00pm last night is urged to contact police on 131444 or CrimeStoppers on 1800 333 000.
