Four people have received non-life threatening injuries in a traffic crash on the Stuart Highway south of Elliott earlier today.

Northern Territory Police responded to a report of a single vehicle crash involving a bus carrying eight people, 10km south of Elliott around 6:20am.

Four people and the driver were conveyed to the Elliott health clinic with non life threatening injuries and the remaining four passengers have been accommodated in Elliott until alternative transport arrives.

There are no traffic diversion in place however motorists are urged to slow down if travelling in the area.

Northern Territory Police said initial inquiries have determined alcohol is not a contributing factor to the cause of the crash.

Investigations surrounding the circumstances leading to this incident are ongoing.
