Arrests – Property Offences

Strike Force Trident have arrested two males, aged 13, following property offences over the weekend.

Unknown offenders stole a vehicle from an address in Malak prior to 1:10am on Saturday 14 September. Around 1:10am, a group of at least seven people forced entry to a business at Batchelor where they stole two tills containing a cash float.

The same offenders unlawfully entered two businesses in Adelaide River around 1:50am. The offenders were disturbed by an employee at one location prior to fleeing with knives.

The offenders entered another business at Noonamah where they stole 14 bottles of alcohol and a cash collection container. They fled when they were disturbed by a staff member and then later stole fuel from a service station in Bakewell.

Casuarina general duties officers encountered the stolen vehicle in Karama around 3:47am and commenced a pursuit. The vehicle was then abandoned in Wulagi and the vehicle occupants fled on foot. The two 13-year-old males were arrested a short time after.

The first youth will be considered for youth diversion for:

  • 1x Unlawful Use of Motor Vehicle
  • 4 Unlawfully Damage Property
  • 3x Unlawful Entry – Building
  • 4x Stealing
  • 1x Drive Unlicensed
  • 1x Dangerous Driving During Pursuit
  • 1x Drive Unregistered Motor Vehicle
  • 1x Drive Uninsured Motor Vehicle

The second youth will be considered for youth diversion for:

  • 1x Unlawful Use of Motor Vehicle
  • 1x Unlawfully Damage Property
  • 3x Unlawful Entry – Building
  • 4x Stealing

Enquiries into the identity of the outstanding offenders continue.
