Northern Territory Police are investigating a disturbance that occurred at the Don Dale Youth Detention Centre this evening.

Police were called to the centre around 7pm, responding to reports that about 12 youths were causing damage to infrastructure and had accessed keys to the facility.

Police negotiators attended and resolved the situation by 10pm. All detainees were returned to the custody of Don Dale staff.
