Investigators from Strike Force Trident are investigating a suspicious vehicle fire that occurred last night in Casuarina.

A red Kia Rio was set alight in a shopping centre car park around 11:15pm and sustained significant damage. A silver Hyundai Accent which was parked close by was also significantly damaged by the flames.

Detectives are seeking assistance in identifying the alleged offender who has been described as possibly a male youth, wearing a black t-shirt, black baseball cap, red or pink shorts, long socks and trainers and a green backpack.

Police would also like to speak with the driver of a white van that was observed in the area just prior to the offence being committed, who may be able to assist with enquiries.
