Northern Territory Police have charged a 50-year-old man in relation to an alleged hit and run which resulted in the death of an 18-year-old woman.

Detective Acting Senior Sergeant Michael Schumacher said Police are still appealing for witnesses.

“In particular, we are asking anyone who may have been travelling on Gap Rd in Alice Springs on the evening of Thursday 4 January 2018, between the hours of 10.30pm and 10.45pm, to please come forward,” he said.

“Police believe the alleged offender was driving a white Triton single-cab utility with Queensland registration.”

The man has been charged with:

-    Hit and Run Cause death

He has been remanded in custody and will appear in court on Monday 8 January 2018.
