Serious Assault Alice Springs

A 33-year-old man will appear before the Alice Springs Local Court in relation to the serious assault of a woman at the weekend.

It will be alleged sometime in the evening of Wednesday March 28 the man and woman were walking along Gap Road when they began arguing.

The man allegedly picked up a stick and struck the woman twice, breaking her arm before fleeing the area. The woman admitted herself to hospital for treatment.

Police located the man on April 2 and he has been charged with one count each of Unlawfully cause serious harm and Armed with an Offensive Weapon.

He will appear before the Alice Springs Local Court today.
