Missing Person - Larrimah - Update #5

Police

Detectives from Darwin and Katherine continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the disappearance of Patrick ‘Paddy’ Moriarty.

Mr Moriarty was last seen at the Larrimah Hotel at 6:00pm on Saturday 16 December 2017. A comprehensive land and air search has not found any sign of Mr Moriarty or his dog Kellie.

Today, police and NTES volunteers from Katherine and Darwin searched the Larrimah rubbish tip for any clues into Mr Moriarty’s disappearance.

Detective Sergeant Matthew Allen said it was not pleasant work on a hot day.

“The rubbish dump is an area of interest and I would like to thank our teams for their efforts today.

“I would also like to thank the level of cooperation we are receiving from the local communities and businesses as we continue our search for Paddy.”

Mr Moriarty is described as Caucasian, 70 years of age, medium build with tanned appearance, around 178cm tall with short black/grey hair and a moustache. He was wearing dark-coloured shorts, singlet, thongs and a baseball style cap. It is possible he was in company with his red Kelpie.

Anyone with information is urged to notify police on 131 444 or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 to assist police with their enquiries.
