Northern Territory Police and Fire and Rescue Services are investigating after a building in Cavenagh Street was damaged by fire overnight.

Emergency services were called to the scene at around 1am after reports of smoke and flames seen coming from the building. 

Police blocked off the area between Knuckey and Bennett Streets while fire fighters extinguished the blaze. 

No one was injured during the incident. 

Investigators will examine the scene this morning.

A crime scene has been established at the site of the fire, however no roads are blocked.
