A 40-year-old female was killed in a two car crash in Coolalinga yesterday.

The crash occurred just before 6:00pm on the Stuart Highway.

The driver and a passenger of one of the vehicles, along with the driver of the second vehicle were taken to Royal Darwin Hospital by St John Ambulance.

Major Crash Investigators re-opened the south bound lanes around 2:00am this morning.

Investigators are urging anyone who witnessed the crash or who may have dash cam footage to contact police.

The road toll for 2018 is now nine, compared to six at the same time last year.
