Police are investigating a single vehicle crash south of Alice Springs in which a man has died.

Initial reports are that the vehicle was travelling on the Luritja Road 152km north of the Luritja Road and Lasseter Highway intersection when the vehicle has left the road and rolled.

The vehicle was discovered by a passing motorist who reported it to police at 8:30am today. Police are yet to determine what time the crash occurred.

The sole occupant of the vehicle, a 35-year-old man is believed to have died as a result of his injuries sustained in the crash.

Investigations into the cause of the crash continue and a file will be prepared for the Coroner.
