An 86-year-old man has died following a two vehicle crash north of Alice Springs on May 29.
It is alleged around 9am the man was travelling in his vehicle south bound on the Stuart Highway when he collided with another vehicle and a trailer in front of him.
The man received serious injuries and was transported to the Alice Springs Hospital for treatment. There were no reports of anyone else injured in the crash.
The man was medivac to Adelaide for further treatment and has since died as a result of injuries sustained in the crash.
Police will prepare a report for the coroner.
This brings the Northern Territory’s road toll to 27.
