Detectives from the Central Substance Abuse Intelligence Desk and Central Investigation Section have arrested several people and issued a number of infringement notices after the execution of search warrants at four properties in Katherine.
The search warrants were executed yesterday morning.
During the searches police located:
- A traffickable quantity of LSD
- A less than traffickable quantity of methamphetamine
- A less than traffickable quantity of cannabis
- Drug paraphernalia
- A quantity of fireworks
- Numerous prohibited weapons
Police interviewed seven people as part of their investigations. Four people, including a teenager, were arrested for drug driving offences after returning a positive test results.
As a result of police investigations a number of people are due to appear in court at a later date.
A 41-year-old man has been charged and released on bail for:
- Possess Schedule 1 Dangerous Drug – Traffickable (LSD)
- Possess Schedule 1 Dangerous Drug (methamphetamine)
- Possess Schedule 2 Dangerous Drug (cannabis)
- Possess Drug Implement
- Possess Fireworks
A 40-year-old man charged and released on bail for:
- Driving while unlicensed
- Driving with prohibited drug in body
A 34-year-old man has been issued infringement notices for:
- Possess Cannabis
- Possess Fireworks
A 23-year-old man and a 19-year-old women were issued with traffic and drug infringement notices.
A 22-year-old man was issued a notice to appear in the Katherine Local Court for:
- Possess Schedule 1 Dangerous Drug (methamphetamine)
- Possess Drug Implement (x2)
- Possess Prohibited Weapon
