Officers from the Cross Border Team have arrested a 39-year-old male following the seizure of a commercial quantity of cannabis.
At around 11:00am on Wednesday 7 November the male was apprehended in his vehicle on the Stuart Highway, south of Alice Springs.
A search was conducted on the vehicle and the male. Drug Detector Dog Nikki was deployed and provided a conditioned response to the vehicle.
Police allege twelve pounds of cannabis was located hidden in the rear of the vehicle along with $9000 cash. A taser device was also located in the driver’s door.
The male has been charged with:
- Supply Schedule 2 Dangerous Drug (commercial quantity)
- Possess Schedule 2 Dangerous Drug (commercial quantity)
- Possess/ receive property, commission of an offence
- Possess / carry prohibited weapon
He is due to appear in Alice Springs Local Court today.
