Drug importation charges - Darwin

A 40-year-old woman has been arrested and charged in relation to the importation and supply of drugs and will appear before the Darwin Local Court this morning.

The woman was arrested on Friday by members of the Joint Organised Crime Taskforce after a substantial amount of MDMA, cocaine and methamphetamine were seized during the investigation and subsequent  warrant executed on her Darwin apartment.

The woman was refused bail and is scheduled to appear before court charged with the following:

  • 30 x Import Marketable Quantity Border Controlled Drug
  • 1 x Import Border Controlled Drug
  • 1 x Supply Commercial quantity Schedule One Dangerous Drug
  • 3 x Forgery
  • 3 x Uttering forged documents

The Joint Organised Crime Taskforce is made up of investigators and analysts from Northern Territory Police, Australian Federal Police, Australian Border Force, Department of Home Affairs and the Australian Criminal Intelligence Commission.
