Strike Force Trident members have arrested a 40-year-old man for property offences.

The man is alleged to have stolen a quantity of copper wire from an address in Yarrawonga on 23 March. He is also alleged to have stolen additional copper wire from a Berrimah address on 22 November, 26 November and 3 December.

The man is believed to have sold a quantity of the stolen items.

He presented to Darwin Police Station yesterday on an unrelated matter and was arrested by police.

He has been charged with:

  • 3 x Unlawful entry – building
  • 3x Stealing
  • Obtain benefit by deception

The man is due to appear in Darwin Local Court today.
