Maningrida police yesterday intercepted a vehicle seven kilometres south of Maningrida allegedly containing about 90 grams of cannabis.

Approximately 200 empty clip seal bags were also allegedly found secreted within the body of the vehicle.

It is alleged that the 28-year-old male driver was transporting the prohibited drug to the community.

The male was subsequently charged with:

• Supply less than a commercial quantity of Schedule 2 drug within an Indigenous community
• Possess trafficable quantity of a Schedule 2 drug - public place

He was remanded in custody to appear in the Darwin Local Court tomorrow.

This arrest follows a separate arrest of two males in Maningrida for similar offences.
