Northern Territory Police have arrested a 32-year-old male for driving and drug offences.

On Thursday 27 June members apprehended a vehicle carrying three passengers in the load space of a single-cab utility.

The 32-year-old driver participated in a road side drug test and returned a positive test result for cannabis in his system.

Drug detection dog Yeti was deployed and a subsequent search of the vehicle located a trafficable quantity of cannabis divided into 56 deal bags and drug implements concealed in a pillow case.

The driver was placed under arrest and conveyed to the Katherine Watch House.

The male has been charged with:

-     Driver with prohibited drug in body

-     Possess schedule 2 trafficable quantity in a public place

-     Supply schedule 2 less than commercial quantity

-     Possess schedule 2 less than trafficable quantity

-     Possess thing to administer dangerous drug

-     Carry adult in open load space of vehicle x 3

He has been remanded in custody to appear before the Katherine Local Court on 12 July 2018.

The three adult passengers were issued with traffic infringement notices.
