Charges - Criminal Offences - Alice Springs

A 13-year-old boy will appear before the Alice Springs Youth Justice Court in relation to criminal offences committed in Alice Springs earlier this month.

It is alleged in the early hours of October 15, the boy and a 17-year-old co-offender unlawfully entered a south Stuart Highway business and stole various items, a quantity of alcohol and caused significant damage to the property. The pair left the business, but returned a short time later and stole a number of radios.

Between 6:15pm and 7pm on October 23, it is alleged the same two youth unlawfully entered a Ross Highway property and stole a purple Holden Commodore, an amount of cash and various bank cards. The vehicle was witnessed recklessly driving at a nearby town camp.

The boy was arrested by officers from Strike Force WINX and the Dog Operations Unit yesterday and the stolen vehicle was recovered.

The boy has been charged with the following offences:

4 x Unlawful entry – building

1 x Unlawful entry – dwelling

3 x Stealing

2 x Damage to property

1 x Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Motor vehicle

1 x Drive Disqualified

He is scheduled to appear before court today.
