Northern Territory Police have charged a 52-year-old male in relation to an aggravated assault.

The incident occurred around 8:00pm on Wednesday night at a Darwin residence and saw the victim suffer multiple stab wounds.

The man has been charged with:

• Unlawfully cause serious harm

He was remanded in custody and is due to appear in the Darwin Local Court at 10am today
