Northern Territory Police are calling for witnesses in relation to an assault which occurred on Sunday 15 June.

The incident occurred around 7:30pm when a male began following two females on the steps of the Darwin Entertainment Centre.

The females, fearing for their safety, ran away from the male who then chased after them. One of the females was allegedly punched to head by the male.

A 24-year-old male was arrested on 16 June.

Police are particularly interested in speaking to an unknown male who ran across Mitchell Street and intervened in the assault.
