Call for Witnesses – Aggravated Assault – Karama

Northern Territory Police are calling for witnesses to assist in locating a man in relation to an alleged aggravated assault.

Police received a report after a bus driver was allegedly assaulted by a passenger last night around 9:00 pm while driving through Karama on the #9 route towards Palmerston.

The passenger was alleged to be armed with a knife and allegedly inflicted minor wounds on the driver before fleeing. Police attended and the driver was treated by St John Ambulance and conveyed to Royal Darwin Hospital.

The offender has been described as an Aboriginal male in his 20s, of skinny build and medium height. He was wearing a red basketball singlet with Chicago Bulls branding.

He was last seen walking away from the bus on Applegum Drive, Karama.
