Arrest – Drug Offences – Nightcliff

Northern Territory Police arrested a 44-year-old male for drug offences on Sunday, 14 April.

Members of the Drug and Organised Crime Squad conducted a search warrant at an address in Nightcliff where they located a crop of cannabis plants being grown hydroponically in a bedroom. A further one kilogram of loose cannabis was also seized.

Detective Acting Senior Sergeant Justin Bentley said “anyone who is believed to be committing any offences, particularly drug type offences, can expect to have a visit from police any time of the day or night.”

The male was refused bail and is due to appear in court today. He was charged with:

  • Cultivate trafficable quantity prohibited plant                            
  • Possess schedule 2 commercial quantity                                
  • Possess schedule 2 less trafficable quantity
