Appointment of new Assistant Commissioner - Alice Springs

The Northern Territory Commissioner of Police and CEO of Fire and Emergency Services, Reece Kershaw APM, has welcomed a former Victorian Police officer to the Northern Territory Police Force.

Narelle Beer has today been announced as the Assistant Commissioner - Regional Operations, beginning her new role in Alice Springs on 1 October 2018.

Ms Beer has more than 30 years of policing experience.

“She brings with her a wealth of knowledge in leadership, ethics, integrity and standards all of which she has achieved and learnt throughout her diverse career in operational, strategic and business policing roles,” Mr Kershaw said.

“Ms Beer has successfully undertaken roles including both Divisional and Local Area Commander and Manager Professional Standards Command where she was responsible for developing, leading and promoting statewide multi-agency transformation and modernisation strategies to reduce high harm crime incidents.”

Acting Commissioner Michael White APM, who has been acting in the role, will return to his position at Southern Area Commander.
