Police

Northern Territory Police have arrested four male youths for a series of unlawful entries in Alice Springs between 11:00pm Monday 25 and 1:00am Tuesday 26 July.

Detective Acting Superintendent Peter Dash said the offenders were arrested about 8:30am yesterday.

“The offenders allegedly unlawfully entered a business on Todd Street and fled once the alarm was activated,” he said.

“They then unlawfully entered a business on Fogarty Street and a business on Colson Street, stealing computer equipment and headphones.

“A patrolling police car observed the offenders fleeing from the location and recovered the stolen items.”

Three youths aged 15, 15 and 16 were charged with:

  • Unlawful entry - building (x3)
  • Stealing (x3)
  • Damage to property (x3)

They will appear in the Alice Springs Local Court today.

The forth offender, a 13-year-old male, was considered for youth diversion.

“This is a great result for Strike Force Winx, who are dedicated to reducing youth and property crime in Alice Springs. Their swift arrest in this case will hopefully be a message to other offenders out there that if you choose to do the wrong thing you will be caught,” said Detective Acting Superintendent Peter Dash.
