Three Charged – Methamphetamine Seized

Members from the Drug and Organised Crime Division have charged two males and a female with drug offences following a seizure of methamphetamine.

Detective Senior Sergeant Mark Stringer said a search warrant was executed at a Darwin CBD hotel room around 5:20pm yesterday.

“A total of 46.6 grams of methamphetamine was seized, along with a small quantity of cannabis, over $4000 in cash and a canister of capsicum spray.”

A 39-year-old female was charged with:

  • Possess a schedule one drug – commercial quantity
  • Supply a schedule one drug
  • Possess prohibited weapon
  • Possess tainted property

A 42-year-old male was charged with possession and supply of a traffickable quantity of a schedule one drug.

They will appear in Darwin Local Court today.

A 35-year-old male was issued a notice to appear for administer drugs to self and possess thing to administer drug. He will appear in Darwin Local Court on 15 November.

“It seems some people just aren’t getting the message,” Detective Senior Sergeant Stringer said.

“If you continue to deal this rubbish, we will catch you and prosecute you. The Darwin Correctional Centre is full of people that thought they could make a quick and easy dollar at the expense of the community.”
