Recklessly Endanger Serious Harm Charges – Alice Springs

Northern Territory Police have charged a 57-year-old man and a 42-year-old woman with recklessly endanger serious harm following an incident that occurred south of Alice Springs.

Detective Superintendent Michael White said that the incident occurred on the Stuart Highway approximately 1.4 kilometres from the Brewer Road intersection on the evening of Wednesday 25 January 2017.

“The couple allegedly caused a crash between their car and a vehicle with two 16-year-old males inside, resulting in one of the males being hospitalised with arm injuries,” he said.

“The man and woman, who believed the youths had been trespassing on their property, had followed the youths before the crash.”

They were arrested and charged with:

  • Recklessly endanger serious harm
  • Aggravated assault
  • Drive manner dangerous 

They were bailed to appear in the Alice Springs Local Court today.
