Methamphetamine Seizure - Darwin

Organised Crime Division detectives have seized 100 grams of methamphetamine and arrested a 39-year-old male at Darwin Airport.

Detective Senior Sergeant Mark Stringer said the male was arrested on Saturday after methamphetamine was allegedly discovered in his underwear.

“The male has been charged with possess and supply a commercial quantity of a schedule one drug and using a false ID to purchase an air ticket.

“He was remanded in custody to appear in the Darwin Local Court today.”

Detective Senior Sergeant Stringer said the NT Organised Crime Division had now seized more than 570 grams of methamphetamine in June alone.

“We are very happy to have seized a significant amount of methamphetamine in the past two weeks. This drug has taken a terrible toll on NT families and the community and the less out there the better.
