Methamphetamine Seized - Darwin

A man will appear in Darwin Local Court today following a seizure of methamphetamine in Darwin.

Detective Senior Sergeant Mark Stringer said on Tuesday 6 June, members from Joint Taskforce Nemesis seized two parcel packages containing a total of 300grams of methamphetamine.

“Yesterday, a search warrant was conducted at a residence in Ludmilla. A further 19 grams of MDMA was located along with a quantity of steroids and a small quantity of cocaine,” Detective Senior Sergeant Stringer said.

A 32-year-old man was arrested and charged with supply a commercial quantity of a Schedule One drug (x2) and possess a Schedule Two drug.

The drugs have a potential street value of up to $300,000.

This is the second significant seizure of methamphetamine in Darwin in five days.

“The effects of this horrible drug are well-known and its importation and manufacture in the Territory is a high priority for law enforcement agencies. We will continue to work together to target and prosecute those who traffick methamphetamine into our community,” Detective Senior Sergeant Stringer said.
