Northern Territory Police have charged a 19-year-old Yulara resident with drug offences following a seizure of methamphetamine yesterday.
Superintendent Neil Hayes said that police also seized cash and a quantity of cannabis during the search.
“Police in Yulara executed a search warrant on the offender’s residence and seized a total of 10.5 grams of methamphetamine and 200 grams of cannabis,” he said.
“A total of $2050 in cash was also seized.”
He was charged with:
- Possess methamphetamine – traffickable quantity
- Possess cannabis – traffickable quantity
- Supply less than commercial quantity of schedule one dangerous drug (methamphetamine)
- Supply less than commercial quantity of schedule one dangerous drug (cannabis)
He was bailed to appear in the Mutitjulu Local Court on 27 September, 2017.
“Drugs, particularly methamphetamine, can have devastating effects on our communities. Due to the good work of local police, we were able to prevent this drug from being sold on the streets,” said Superintendent Hayes.
