Northern Territory Police have charged a 23-year-old man following a domestic incident in Alice Springs.
Detective Senior Sergeant Allan Milner said the incident occurred about 8:50pm Tuesday 18 July.
“It is alleged that the offender assaulted a 20-year-old female at a block of apartments in Alice Springs,” he said.
“The offender then allegedly assaulted another occupant of the hotel, a 22-year-old male, who went to the assistance of the woman during the assault.”
The 23-year-old man was charged with:
- Aggravated Assault (x2)
- Unlawful entry
- Damage property
- Breach DVO
He will appear in the Alice Spring Local Court today.
“Police would like to thank the quick thinking of the resident who intervened and provided assistance to the woman in this incident. It is possible that the woman may have been assaulted further if he had not intervened,” said Detective Senior Sergeant Allan Milner.
