Man and Woman Charged – Methamphetamine Seized – Darwin

Northern Territory Police have charged a 36-year-old man and 25-year-old woman following the seizure of methamphetamine.

Detective Senior Sergeant Mark Stringer from the Organised Crime Division said the pair were pulled over on the Stuart Highway near Adelaide River on Friday, 2 June 2017.

“Upon a search of their Mazda 3 hatchback, 150grams of methamphetamine and an ice pipe were located. 

“The pair were arrested and charged with possess and supply a commercial quantity of a schedule one drug and possess thing to administer a drug.”

Both will appear in Darwin local court today.

If sold on the streets of Darwin this haul could fetch up to $150,000.

“Possession and supply of methamphetamine are serious offences,” said Detective Senior Sergeant Stringer.

“The maximum penalty for possession or supply of a commercial quantity is 25 years imprisonment.  If you choose to get involved in this stupid trade there is a good chance you will be caught and serve some serious jail time.”
