Front Counter – Alice Springs

Police

Northern Territory Police have confirmed the front counter at the Alice Springs Police Station will remain open 24-hours indefinitely, following extensive community consultation.

Acting Assistant Commissioner Danny Bacon said the decision would ensure Alice Springs residents have round the clock access to their local police.

“We have welcomed the community feedback and listened to the constructive comments made by many different individuals and groups. That’s why we’ve decided to stick with the status quo,” Mr Bacon said.

“We want to continue to work in collaboration with the community and this is an example of that commitment.

“Beating crime is a partnership between police and our community. We said we would listen and the message has come across loud and clear.

“The Community feels safer in the knowledge that the front counter is permanently staffed and we accept that to be the case.”
