A man has died following a fatal motor vehicle crash early this morning.

Acting Superintendent Serge Bouma said the crash occurred just before 1:00am near the intersection of Amy Johnson Drive and Tiger Brennan Drive.

“The driver of a Subaru coupe travelling outbound along Tiger Brennan Drive has lost control of his vehicle, causing it to crash and catch on fire.

“A male and female passenger managed to free themselves from the wreckage. Unfortunately the driver died at the scene.

“Investigations to determine the exact circumstances surrounding the crash are ongoing, however early investigations indicate that speed may have been a factor.”

The Territory road toll now stands at four.
